Bethany Gilboard is Interim Chief Executive Officer of Alliance for Better Health Care, LLC. A senior executive with more than 25 years of accomplishments in the health care industry, Ms. Gilboard has been on the forefront of population health management. She has a proven track record of developing Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and building statewide and local collaborations with physicians, hospitals, health plans and key constituents.
She is Chief Executive Officer of the Innovative Health Alliance of New York, LLC, a Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO and the first Clinically Integrated Network in New York’s Capital Region. Previously, she was the first executive hired to lead Metro West Accountable Health Care Organization, LLC, a 225 member physician hospital organization representing 30,000 commercial covered lives, and the Collaborative Health ACO, LLC, a Medicare Shared Savings Program in Framingham, MA. Prior to her leadership role at Metro West, Ms. Gilboard held the following positions: the first Director of managed care programs at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, MA, where she developed a capitated eye care network to support Medicare Advantage plans; Executive Director at Lowell General Physician Hospital Organization, Lowell, MA; Director, Massachusetts Regional Extension Center at Massachusetts e Health Institute, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, Boston, MA.
Ms. Gilboard earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY and a master’s in public administration, health policy and planning from New York University, Graduate School of Public Administration. She received advanced program certification in health care and negotiation and conflict resolution from Harvard School of Public Health, and completed Leadership Academy at Tufts University School of Medicine – Brandeis University.
Ms. Gilboard has served and is also currently a member of numerous professional associations, including the Independent Board of Voxent Healthcare Technology and the New England Chapter of Health Information Management Systems Society. She has been selected to make presentations on various health care topics at forums across the country and was awarded the 2010 Rx for Excellence Award by the Massachusetts Medical Law Review for the creation of CPOE University for physician and other health care providers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Boston, MA.
